Shipping and Returns

Hi, this is Ivan! The Science of Birds Shop uses a print-on-demand service to manage most of the printing and shipping services. The policies of the print-on-demand service dictate a lot of what I can and can't do in terms of returns, etc.

Please keep in mind that The Science of Birds is a "One Man Show." It's just me (Ivan) running every part of the operation. I'm super excited to offer you fun products and I want you to be happy with them. But I'm not Amazon. It's just not practical for me to offer all of the services that a big company can.

When will I get my order?

Usually, it takes 3–7 days to fulfill an order, after which it’s shipped out. The shipping time depends on your location. See estimates for the total wait time below.

  • USA: 6–11 business days
  • Europe: 9–15 business days
  • Australia / New Zealand: 5–21 business days

Where will my order ship from?

I use a print-on-demand order fulfillment company that has facilities worldwide. Where your product ships from will depend on several factors, including your location.

Will I be charged customs for my order?

An additional customs and tax fee can occur on international orders. This fee is not in my control and is assessed by your local customs office. Customs policies vary widely for every country so please check with your local customs office directly to see if they apply duties and taxes to your purchases.

My order should be here by now. Where's my stuff?!

Before getting in touch with me, please help me out by doing the following:

  • Check your shipping confirmation email for any mistakes in the delivery address
  • Ask your local post office if they have your package
  • Stop by your neighbors in case the courier left the package with them

If the shipping address was correct, and the package wasn't left at the post office or at your neighbor’s, get in touch with me using the Contact Form with your order number.

How do I track my order?

For any of the print-on-demand products in the shop (which is most of them), you’ll receive a tracking link via email when your order ships out. If you have any questions about your tracking or shipment, please send me message via the Contact Form.

I received a wrong/damaged product. What now?

I'm sorry the product you ordered arrived damaged or if it was the wrong item. To help me fix this for you, please send me message via the Contact Form within a weeks' time with photos of the damaged product, your order number, and any other details you may have about your order. I’ll get back to you with a resolution as soon as possible!

What's your return policy?

I don't offer returns or exchanges at this time. Please choose your items with care, especially t-shirts and other clothing. As a one-man-operation, it's difficult for me to process returns. That said, if you receive a wrong or damaged item, please get in touch with me within a week of receiving it. I'll do what I can to fix the problem for you—either a refund or possibly a replacement.

Can I exchange an item for a different size/color?

No, I'm sorry. I don't offer exchanges.
